George Zimmerman apparently has decided to put down the guns, and pick up his hands for a real fight.
TMZ says that promoters of a planned celebrity boxing match featuring Zimmerman told the site that Zimmerman wants to try his hands on West because ‘Ye’s been fighting “defenseless people” lately. “Defenseless people” apparently includes the paparazzo he got into a bout with at LAX, and the 18-year-old who allegedly threatened his fiancée, Kim Kardashian.
Zimmerman is a “celebrity” because he shot and killed an unarmed teenager, Trayvon Martin.
“He [George Zimmerman] is open to any challengers that make sense,” promoter Damon Feldman toldAllHipHop.
The match, planned for Mar. 1, will be a high-security, low-attended event (with only about 100 people at a secret location) — for the sake of Zimmerman’s safety. He’s signed an open-ended contract, meaning that anyone could step in the ring with him. (Yes, really. Anyone can email [email protected], Feldman said).
Game has offered to be a contender. “I will beat the f**k out of him,” he said. “It would not be boxing for me. I’d be boxing for the legacy of Trayvon Martin and for his family.”
Zimmerman agrees with that. “He is training hard,” Feldman added, “and he said, ‘Game is the perfect opponent.'”
