Tulsa Cop Who Shot Terence Crutcher Charged With ManslaughterThursday, September 22, 2016The Tulsa, Oklahoma cop who shot an unarmed black man because she feared for her life has been charged with manslaughter.Terence Crutcher, 40, was shot and killed on Sept. 16, after he parked his SUV in the middle of a roadway and began behaving erratically.
Video footage released by police this week shows Crutcher walking slowly toward his SUV while officers yelled orders at him to stop. He didn’t stop.Officer Betty Shelby fired the shot that killed Crutcher.
The District Attorney announced the charge against Shelby on Thursday.“In the matter of the death of Terence Crutcher I determined that the filing of the felony crime of manslaughter in the first degree against officer Betty Shelby is warranted,” Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler said.Posted in news
